50 Summers

As part of Laurasia’s 50th anniversary celebration, this new EP spans a half-century of one of the group’s signature concert closers, the classic “Summertime” by George & Ira Gershwin.
- The EP features two freshly mixed re-releases, as well as two previously unreleased recordings (including a 2023 live performance).
- Summertime 1974. This demo was tracked during the group’s first visit to a professional recording studio in May 1974. Recording engineer: Bob Sakayama, NYC.
- Summertime 1975. This is the version that was released on the first LP, “Noonan, Levi & Houshmand – East River.” Recorded at Cavern Sound in Independence, Missouri.
- Summertime 2000. This recording was originally released on the album “Scott’s Red Star,” by Patrick S. Noonan and his pianist brother, Peter T. Noonan. With Jonathan Levi (violin), Paul Lieberman (flute), Scott Lee (bass), Chris Noonan (drums).
- Summertime 2023. The EP closes with a live performance, recorded at Joe’s Pub in NYC at the group’s 50th anniversary concert (also celebrating the release of the album “Brotherhood”), with special guest Jamey Haddad (percussion).
